Local Chicken with Kecha Jaluk || Country Chicken with Green Peppercorn Sauce and Green Tomato || Rustic flavour

Fresh Green Peppercorn has a very unique flavour and is used in Asian cuisines. These are basically unripe black peppercorns. It has a very fresh flavour with a bright aroma. It can be preserved by grinding them to a paste and then mixing with vinegar.  This green peppercorn sauce is milder than black pepper. It can be used as a marinade or in any curry as a taste enhancer. This rustic “Local Chicken with Kecha Jaluk || Local Chicken with Green Peppercorn sauce and Green Tomato” is a very flavourful dish and delicious.

Ingredients to prepare Local Chicken with Kecha Jaluk:

500 gms country (local) chicken, cut into medium size pieces.

2 medium size potatoes, peeled and cut into halves.

1 green tomato, cut into quarters.

1 tbsp green peppercorn sauce.

1 green chili.

4 crushed cloves of garlic.

1 tbsp mustard oil.

1 tsp lemon juice.

Salt to taste.

How to make Local Chicken with Kecha Jaluk:

Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan and saute crushed garlic.

Add chicken pieces and stir well.

Add the potatoes and cover with a lid for 10/ 12 minutes.

Add green peppercorn sauce and stir well. Season with salt.

Let it simmer till the chicken and potatoes are cooked.

Add green tomatoes and cook for 3/4 minutes.

Add green chili and lemon juice and stir gently.

Cook for another 3/4 minutes on low heat.

Local Chicken with Kech Jaluk || Local Chicken with Green Peppercorn Sauce and Green Tomato is ready to serve with steamed rice.

NB: Black pepper corns can be used in case of non-availability of green pepper corns.
